The topic is Resolved: The United States Federal Government should enact a single-payer system of national health insurance.

Participation in this tournament is limited to thirty-two teams, each team being made up of two individuals. To apply, you and your partner should complete the following application form.

Please include 100-250 words describing your past experience in speech or debate, your interest in politics, and/or your current interest in public speaking (experience will not be a factor in evaluating applications). A personal reference is also required.

Applications will be evaluated primarily on the strength of your letter and academic record. In particular, we will be looking for assurance of commitment to participate fully until the end of the tournament.
